RIAA Cocksuckers

What I have read and understood is they are clearly going ofter the ones that are sharing...the 261 cases that were just filed are those that are or have shared over 1000 files/songs. They have many more pending for those with less offenses, but again its the ones sharing that are being targeted. They are the ones the feel are providing the files and should be made the example of. It may not make it go away, but they are hoping to make a dent and send a loud message that they won't tolerate it. Its being based on copyright fraud and the millions of dollars they are saying has been lost over the last 2 years due to illegal sharing. The next plan is all DVD's and CD's will be copy-proof. Its already happening.

i don't think its just that you have shared 1K
files... but that you have 1K files AVAILABLE to share.

because you have such a large quantity available
to DL... i suppose that sends a red flag straight
to the glue-sniffers.

i STILL want to know what the action is in regards
to non-US residents....

the reason i ask is because i feel it will reveal
a loop-hole and/or support that this really is
bogus.

i also read the yahoo transcription in regards
to the 12 year old being sued. i feel the
morons behind this lawsuit deal will eventually
hang themselves.... as i don't recall reading
if anyone has contested the accusations yet.

exactly how do they prove you have done X?

where do they get the records?

this goes back to private policy... in that if
a service claims to keep your information private,
there is no reason (by law) that the service
should relinquish your information to some
johnny-3 piece.

there are alot of areas in this 'battle' that i
find bizarre.... these are just a few.

i think a happy medium isn't setting up a system
in which you can dl music for a fee.... but blacklisting
songs that have reached a predetermined statute
of limitations and putting them on public domain

just like images

Yes I do have a huge library of music...but I haven't dl'ed anything in probably 2 years...this whole 'cracking down' on dl'ing music came after my era...and plus my stuff was never up for sharing either...
